Weyland is oddly anachronistic to the later films, Ms Yutani verging on racist charicicature like those in Rising Sun. Few were given characters to really play with little consideration to motivation. The Aliens fair little better with digital and suites that differ in look. The predators weapons like a Doom game and those 3 foot long claws ridiculous.
The predators are too bulky and cumbersome. The less said about the town in Requiem the better as that shows how terrible the budget was. The pyramid is beyond stupidity with moving walls etc. Next up is the lack lustre sets and settings. The first has too low a rating to show things like a chest buster intrinsic to the core of the films.Įven next to other media they pale in comparison with the original AvP comic streets ahead. The story is then set in a derivative setting with nod nod wink wink fan service hiring Lance Henrickson or characters named Dollar and terribly used techniques like the bullet time face hugger. The films remove the typical setting and introduce a subpar Star Gate mentality.
